Hi All

Just an update on Dottie Dog. She is improving rapidly. Her coat has improved in just 4 days. She is getting good food and lots of bones and is not quite as frenetic in her search for food. She dose not leave my side during the day.

I have taken her to the Vet who says that she is underweight (9.7kg) and malnourished. Other than that she is quite well but has a number of old scars. We have had her vacinated checked and chipped.

When I was cleaning out my shed ( making a new compound for the dogs) I picked up a piece of black polly pipe and she took off and would not come back untill I left the pipe behind and bribed her with treats. (???!!!)

With all that she is making remarkable progress and will turn into a ripper little dog. We just love her to bits.

Great to hear that she is coming around nicely!!! Good Luck. I have a feeling her other owner make of hit her around a bit with objects. taz.gif At least she is in good hand now. I may be blind and not read the forum but did you say you are members of the KCA?????

Grat news Lockie, thats the Koolie for you adaptable & never ever seem to lose the ability to trust again even when it comes to memories of bad experiences, it might help when she trusts you a little more to take a piece of poly pipe with her on a lead & gently rub it over her to try & tell her it's not for hitting with here, otherwise she may still think that each time it's touched for years to come, once she realised your not out to hurt her with things she's scared of she may still be scared of them but not of you in that situation.

Hi

We have joined the KCA and my son and his girlfriend have joined too.

We have had Koolies for nearly 30 years and dodn't know about the club till we got broard band (sort of broard band but better than dial up). I think it is a really great thing.

As to the pipe I will take your advice on that but not for a while. I am, however, still staggerd at how fast she had adapted.

Thanks for the support

PS here she is as I type lying behind me at the desk

That is great to hear that you are members, as is the rest of the family (sounds a bit like our family) Good to see Dottie so relaxed. Hope to meet you all at the next meeting!!!!!

Hi All

Went to a 70th Birthday party in Jeparit last night and was able to take Dottie Dog.

It was her first (ever) interaction with a group of people. Need not have worried, she had a ball and actually started allowing other people to pat her.

She is a different dog from 6 days ago and I have no quams about bringing MoJo and the pup home tomorrow....

One sleep to go...............
