Hi All

Just joined the group recently so thought I had better introduce myself.

My name is Wendy, I live in Queensland and own three koolies along with a few other breeds.

I accidently found the koolie breed when walking past a pet shop (I know, never buy a dog from a pet shop) advertised as Koolie's. They actually looked like blue merle borders and being a long fan of border collies, and loving merle dogs I couldn't resist and bought Dillon, now 11 years old.

I fell in love with Dillon so much that I then had Jaffa (smooth coat red merle) and Spaz (smooth coat red merle) join my household.

I do agility with my kids and both Dillon and Jaffa reached their Australian Agility Champion titles with ADAA. (Spaz is my husbands dog so I don't trial him, dammit) I also run borders in agility but I must say that I find the Koolies easier to train and run. I have one problem now though and that is that I am worried should I ever get another Koolie that they will never meet the expectations that Jaffa and Dillon have already met. Poor little pup will have some big shoes to fill.

Must go now Jaffa is barking at me to take her for a swim at the dam (not that uncommon), I look forward to catching up on all the posts.

welcome2.gif to the forum, glad you introduced yourself.

Your dogs & your success in agility sound amazing, I'd love to have a crack at agility BUT the travelling for me...just not the time sadly but one day.

A pup would have big shoes to fill, but it depends I spose on whether you want a competition replacement or just another loved addition regardless what it is & if it is talented or not, but I know what you mean, once you get 1-2dogs many others just don't seem to come close to the benchmark.

I agree please share some pics with us, we are a friendly bunch & hope to hear more from you.

Hi Wendy and welcome.

I think I used to clip some of your Poodles at TAFE around 2000-2001.

All these lovely Queenslanders, we are going to have so much fun in April, you will all have to come to the workshop and spend the weekend playing with the sheep, with all this Agility talent around I think we will also have to have some equipment for you to demonstrate and educate all of us who are enthusiast about this high flying sport.
Look forward to pics and posts
