He likes to stand in the water and watch ...

But he got braver and Yippee Smith can swim ...

But oh no don't swim near the rapids, faster Smith ...

Too late ...

Hang in there Smith ...

What happened???

And no swimming trip would be complete without pictures of the girls Pixie enjoying the cool water....

Poppie posing like the glamour girl she is...

Harley squabbling with Poppie over who gets to chase the stick.

That was a really big day for the family... we got up at 5.00am to go for a ride (about 15kms) and then over to Tinaroo for a swim, then back to Tolga for a bath and tick dip before going home to Butchers Creek so needless to day they were really happy and tired on Sunday night

All this that we do for our loved ones, don't they enrich our lives.
Love the shots, looks like a magical place, and they really look in their element.
Thanks for sharing.

It is a cheats way of exercising. I just take a book to read, hike to a shady spot so they are a bit warmed up and sit and read. They just swim and swim and swim some more. The ACD's like to have a stick thrown, but you can do that reading too.

One thing in its favour with having so much rain in the tropics there are some awesome swimming holes, creeks, lakes, rivers etc ... I guess that's why all my dogs are water hogs!! very rarely is there a ride or walk without a swim or paddle. They get hot they wallow... even when I return home from a ride, they just hop in the water trough and sit in it.
It also becomes difficult with tick and flea prevention. It washes off, so I have to keep reapplying, but will try the wintergreen on the dogs on the weekend and see how resilient it is with their swimming habits.

now that would be a good test for it. my poor guys have not had a swim yet this year as there is no rivers (with water in them that is) around here there is a big dam but it's the town water supply so i don't think they would like it doggie flavored

but i am moving after Xmas to a cooler house a big Queenslander with 4 veranda's on acreage plus dams so in about 2 weeks time i can have that wonderful wet doggie aroma 24-7 great really looking forward to it. i am hopeing this time next year i will be living in my own house on my block
