I know some of you are sick of the rain, but we are still in drought and today Qld's low hit town! We have had over 30mm and thought it was easing off when it seemed to turn around and come back. So I got the camera out for a play, poor Min wasn't has happy as we were. Pup.gif

Good to see that the much needed rain has reached you. I was glad to see a bit of sun today. But I think there is more rain headed our way again, so maybe it will reach you down south again, fingers crossed. My OH is tackling the lawn at present and I mean tackling. It's a jungle out there. lol.

Wish we had thought of that a few months..or years ago!! Had enough thanks for now, up to 60mm and on dust that just makes for slippery.

You're doin fine with your camera, I just wish I had more time to play with this one.

Well Sil glad that some one in the drought area got some decent rain. Here in Marnoo we only got 12mls. Just enough to make the dust into a sticky mud to go on your shoes, underneath dry!!!!

By the way what type/make/brand of camera do you have. Looking at getting a DSLR myself and would love to get some ideas of what is good out there from people that are using them.

Hi jtk

Seems it was patchy again, the guys at Horsham reckon they got a good drop, but I was pleased we didn't get the storms that went through over the east. Good news for us is MtBuller got 90mm which gives it a chance of running into the Eildon catchment and go towards pushing our water allocation over the 40% mark. We ended up with 57mm which was very good, although there is no grass alive to benifit the trees and shrubs have just soaked it up.

Our camera is a Canon 30D with, from memory, a 18 - 124mm ultrasonic lense (anyway it goes from a slighty wide angle to a reasonable zoom) which makes it pretty flexible for what we want. We also have a 200mm lens which isn't as light and comfortable to use. We had a photographer here from the weekly times in November and I was interested to see what he used and it was a Canon 20D the older model, he says only the sports photographers had the newer model. Which was very encouraging because if it doesn't come out it's not the cameras fault then. We are very very pleased with it but it was quite expensive (bought with an inheritance). The next model down which I think might be 350D or something like that is also very good, the boopy and tjukurpa are getting good shots with that. Be warned, it is adictive!

Do you have to tell anyone that it's adicictive. you poor buggers have to put up with all the photo's that i post and that's only some of them lol the camra that i am useing is a video camra and i don't use the video side of it as i can't work out how to get the videos from the camra onto the computer and just pray that i never do lol well any way my camra is a panasonic VDR-D150 30x optical zoom
