We made a big trip away this weekend, a 6.5 hr journey to Gisborne, The doggies and me.
A long winding road later, and I can happily report that none of my dogs suffer from carsickness! :-p
Dice did some great work, and almost won Novice on Saturday, but dropped a rail.
On Sunday, he finally managed his 2nd Intermediate clear round, he's having trouble with the complicated stuff in Intermediate, poor boy!
He also, and here's the BIG BRAG, won Novice on Sunday, despite taking a detour and a wide turn! That's his third Novice win, which graduates him into SENIOR!!!
His Intermediate clear round was 8th place, only one off the ribbons. It wasn't too hard a course fortunately.
So at the tender age of 2 years 4 months he is now a Senior dog... Methinks it will be quite a while before I have any more big brags to tell you!
But, it's a big step in the direction of AgCh, you can only get challenges in Senior, and you need 6 of them for AgCh...
Here's a few pics of the big day... :-)

Hi Penny
so how do you get the challenges and you obviously have to win them lol. Very differant from here. Gabby is on her way of getting her AG Ch once you have got your ADM and JDM title you can start going for the other passes which is 20 in each ADM and 20 in JDM qualifications except 10 in ADM has to be 1st,2nd or 3rd and 10 have to be 1st places.some in JDM. Its a hard slog. Gabby has got 6 in the 2nd or 3rd passes in JDM and also has a first in JDM so only another 9 1st places to go and 4 more 2nd or 3rds in JDM and only 2 2nds or third places and no 1st in ADM so only 10 more 1st places and 8 more in the 2ndsor 3rds lol.
Good luck
Well done that is awesome. Love the photos

Yes, very different Danni, what constitutes a pass for you?
A clear round?
There are only 2 challenges available in any one Championship show Senior class.
You need to place 1st or second to get them. To earn the AgCh, you need six, three of which must be 1st. I think they must also be under two or three different judges.
(until entries go over 100 in the class, then there's 1 more challenge for every 50 dogs entered, and you can get a challenge for 3rd etc)
To get Grand AgCh, you need twenty, ten of which must be 1st place.
There will be Jumpers Challenges some time soon, since the establishment of the Jumpers C, B, and A class series, there are now about 17 dogs in NZ qualified to run in Jumpers A. If fifteen of them all get together in one place, there will be 1 challenge on offer :-)and people can start the slow collection of their 6 challenges for JCh
When there's enough qualified into A to get 50 in a class, there will be two challenges.

I am sure that Mal would join in with his congratulations, he is holidaying up the Cape and Spud is staying with me, and believe me it is an eye opener for him at my place, but he is settling in well in true Koolie "adaptableness" if there is such a word.

Hi Penny
A quali is a clear round and under time. Yours sound so complicated so what is Jumpers c,b and a is that like beginners intermediates and advanced. Never know we might end up like that lol

Funny isn't it, any system but the one you know seems awfully complicated :-)
For us, if it isn't under time, it isn't a clear round!
And I didn't even say about the points for win equivalent! That kicks in after 75 entries, then 2nd place gets you a point, and 3 2nd places = 1 win towards winning out of a class.
Jumpers C is simple courses, no traps, only a little steering required.
Jumpers B is more handling required, the dog needs to be responsive and able to do things like serpentine and 270deg turns, and pull thru's etc.
Jumpers A, is tending to be trappy, call off's, and plenty of opportunities to go wrong. Complicated, split second timing required of the handler.
They are intended to more or less equate to skill levels required of dogs who are running Starter/Novice, Novice/Intermediate, and Intermediate/Senior.
Which proves that Dice's jumpers and agility skills are pretty much equal, since he won out of Jumpers C two weekends ago, and Novice last weekend.
Of course, it all boils down to who runs fastest and clear on the day.
There are usually faster dogs than the winner on the board, usually with 5 or 10 faults for 1 or 2 dropped rails.

god i should have done agility over there little gypsy would have made it to champion points we always got a placing only once she was over time and it was her handler that kept stuffing up to make her loose 5 points here and there lol

You still have to get 3 wins and 3 either win or 2nd in Senior, beating all comers. The points equivalent is only for winning out of Starters, Novice, and Jumpers C and B.
Once you're in the top ranks,it is irrelevant, because you're not going any higher. :-)
